PA (Palestinian Authority) leader Abbas is calling for ending security cooperation with Israel.
Since the election of US President Donald Trump, who announced he is not committed to the two-state solution like his predecessors, it has been a long uphill road for the PA. Abbas is seeking ways to get back in the spotlight, including this recent call to end security cooperation with Israel.
Requiring a reason to justify such a move, he blames it on the recent fatal shooting of a 31-year-old terrorist by IDF soldiers on Monday, 8 Adar, during a shootout. The terrorist appeared on the wanted list for conspiring to perpetrate attacks. When soldiers came to arrest him and he opened fire. He was killed by their return fire.
