A Russian missile deal with Iran involving S-300 surface-to-air missiles (NATO codename SA-12 Giant) is about to move forward, which when actualized, will provide Iran with a state-of-the-art anti-aircraft system.
Mikhail Dmitriyev, the head of the Russian Federal Agency for Military Cooperation, said talks were ongoing on the delivery of the missile system to Iran, Russia’s state-owned news agency RIA Novosti reports. He went on to explain there have been delays, but the contracts signed back in 2005 have “not been torn up”.
