An Arab motorist was shot and wounded at Tapuach Junction in Shomron on Wednesday when he tried to run over a border policeman manning the post.
Police detected a vehicle parked on the side of the road occupied by three men who they suspected of being involved in a truck theft in the area. One of the suspects tried to flee and was immediately apprehended. The driver realized what was taking place and he hit the gas and tried to run over a policeman. The officer fired at his lower torso, injuring him lightly. He was transported to Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikvah.
