Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is set to depart from Israel on Monday, to take part in the nuclear summit in Washington hosted by US President Barak Obama.
Over 40 world leaders are expected to take part in the forum, but it appears the US president will not be seeing aside to meet with the prime minister during his stay in Washington.
Among the speakers expected to address the forum will be Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who will most likely use the international forum to condemn Israel’s nuclear arsenal. While the US president is expected to meet with Mubarak and Chinese President Hu Jintao, it appears he is simply too busy to meet with Netanyahu, in line with the anti-Israel agenda of the White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Israel’s enemy from within.
It appears that there is an ongoing dialogue between senior advisors to the prime minister and US Mideast envoy George Mitchell, and the White House is hopeful, expecting to receive the prime minister’s response to Obama’s latest call for a Jerusalem construction freeze, a demand made during the prime minister’s recent visit to Washington.
Most analysts agree that the decision to shun the prime minister is another effort to apply pressure on Jerusalem as the White House follows the dictate of Rahm Emanuel and his voraciously anti-Israel policies.

Actually it would be politicaly harder for the prime minister to not give in to President Hussain if he would be acting nicely toward him. This really simplifies matters. It remains clear that the president is anti Israel and is not requesting this for their benefit. This way he also keeps most congress members against him on this issue.
