President Shimon Peres on Sunday morning, erev Shvi’i Shel Pesach, visited the Har Nof home of Maran Rishon L’Tzion HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita, telling reporters for him, it was an honor to meet with the Rav on yomtov. The two discussed matters pertaining to current events including some of the threats facing Eretz Yisrael today. They also discussed national poverty and other matters of significant importance.
Accompanying the president was Kosel Rav Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz Shlita.
As he was leaving the Rav, Mr. Peres referred to the continued captivity of Gilad Shalit, indicating Israel is still waiting for Hamas’ response, adding we must act to obtain his release “at any price”.
Following their departure from the Rav’s home, the two proceeded to Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger Shlita.
