Maran HaGaon HaRav Yosef Sholom Elyashiv Shlita visited the Kosel on Wednesday, the first day of Chol Hamoed in Eretz Yisrael.

The gadol hador expressed his wish to see the rebuilt Churva Shul, stopping there on the way to the Kosel. Also present were Kosel Rav Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Rav Yosef Efrati, and Rav Zilberman. They recited prakei tehillim from Hallel and sang Pesach songs.

Rabbi Rabinowitz asked R’ Elyashiv if he remembers the former shul, to which he replies he does not remember exactly how the old shul looked and therefore, could not say with authority if the restoration was in line with the previous shul. R’ Elyashiv did comment on the impressive restoration that has brought the shul to its present grandeur.

After leaving the Churva, the Rav visited the Kosel.
