Armed Robbery Suspect Fatally Shot By NYPD In Brooklyn

ggPolice shot and killed a man in Brooklyn early Sunday after he held up a bodega, then pointed what appeared to be a gun at officers.

According to the NYPD, at about 12:40 a.m., a three person anti-crime unit consisting of one sergeant and two police officers responded to a 911 call of a gunpoint robbery in progress at the Garden Deli in Bushwick.

The officers observed the suspect walking west on Starr Street and gave verbal commands.

The suspect had a black firearm in his hand and raised it towards the officers, police say.

The officers fired at the suspect and struck him multiple times.

The suspect was pronounced dead at Woodhull Hospital.

A black firearm that appeared to be an imitation pistol was recovered at the scene. It turned out to be a pellet gun.

Police said just prior to the shooting, the suspect had entered the grocery store and robbed the clerk at gunpoint.

  1. Did the foolish perp really think he could outgun the cops with a pellet gun? Without question the cops acted appropriately unlike the deceased perp.

  2. police do not have time to verify if the gun is real or a toy; they must take due precaution. They certainly were justified in shooting and killing this man.
