Israel Police a male is in custody after he masqueraded as a diplomat, taken into custody close to midnight in Tamra. The man was dressed in military uniform when taken into custody, having arrived in a Mercedes with diplomatic license plates.

Police noticed the license plates and decided to stop the vehicle for inspection. They found a 41-year-old Haifa resident who simply decided he wished to fantasize being a member of the diplomatic corps. He went all out, including the vehicle, license plates, uniform decorated with citations and medals and passports and ID.

The man was arraigned in the Akko Magistrate Court where police asked to extend his remand.
