Some of the protests that were held around the country on Tuesday night by the ‘Peleg Yerushalmi’ against the IDF were violent – of this there is no dispute. However, the majority of talmidim taking part in the protests were non-violent.
In the following video documenting one of the protests, we see how a policeman knocks a protestor to the ground violently, without any provocation.
· First, we see a person injured on the road
· EMS personnel are summoned to assist
· A young man then crosses the street. He is non-violent
· We then see a Yassam policeman violently knock him to the ground
· This is repeated in slow motion
· A policeman with hands in his pocket looks on but does nothing to assist him

Surprise! Surprise!
Nothing new. I’ve witnessed it myself. Seen them smash up a car with the driver still driving. I think the guy just lost his cool and is going to regret it unfortunately. Having said that, a few of those hot- headed youngsters who are there for the action and not for any other reason have a lot to answer for as well…
What the heck
It just looks as if the policeman just tried to push him out of the street, but he did not intentionally try to hurt the protester.
There are a lot more Yeshiva guys than the Yassam thugs. It’s time for the Yeshiva guys to not run away but stand their ground. If need be, to push back and show the Yassam thugs some muscle. Their is a lot of power in numbers.
Brute force is the only language the Yassam thugs understand.
Hard to see the full context, but from how it looks to me, I would compare it to here in Canada if there is anything happening on a street, like a person down and ambulance summoned, then woe-betide anyone coming anywhere near the immediate vicinity. What gets to me is the lackadaisical attitude of the pedestrians walking across in the middle of the street and without consideration of the medical emergency they were walking right through.
