The Munkacser Kehillah merited in celebrating a double simchah as two sifrei torah were dedicated almost simultaneously. The elation which gripped the hundreds of participants in the simchos, was that of Simchas Torah when klal yisroel rejoices with the Torah for two days without interruption. (More pictures HERE)
The Simcha began this past Motzei Shabbos Mishpatim (Feb. 17th) when the Sefer Torah, commissioned by the Teichman Family, formerly of Munkacs, Hungary, and currently of Los Angeles, California was completed, the final letters written by the Munkacser Rebbe Shlita.
The new Torah was lead thru the streets of Boro Park escorted by hundreds of Munkacser Chasidim, friends and family of distinguished Teichman family amid great rejoicing and fanfare. Hundreds of children lined the two sides of 14th Avenue, torches and flags in hand, all marching in unison as hundreds of people danced around the chuppah. The procession ended at the Main Munkacser Shul on 47th Street where everyone poured into the shul which was especially set up to accommodate the enormous crowd.
The highlight of the simcha was when the Munkacser Rebbe danced the customary Hakafos to the tune of the age old Mitzva Tantz niggun of the Munkacser Rebbes. The walls of the shul seemed to sway back and forth as the hundreds of Chasidim danced with fervor and emotion.
A lavish seudas mitzvah was served at the Renaissance Ballroom, for the hundreds of guests with the participation of leading Rabbonim and Dayanim and was graced with the personal attendance of the Munkacser Rebbe Shlita which lasted well into the night.
But the simcha spirit only seemed to elevate as hundreds reassembled the following morning at the home of HaRav HaGaon R’ Moshe Citron Shlit”a, a noted Rabbi and a scion of the illustrious Dorog Rabbinical Family to rejoice as he dedicated a new sefer torah. The expression of joy was evident not just on the faces of the Citron family but on the faces of all participants as the sefer torah was led towards the Munkacser Bais Medrash. The Munkacser Rebbe danced the customary hakafos inside the shul and rejoiced with the new torah for well over an hour.
A elegant seuda was served in honor of the new torah in the Kahal Chasidim Hall were the guests were presented with a special commemorative sefer written by the bal Simcha Harav Moshe Shlita.
This special celebration will be long remembered by all those who merited in these two special days of Simcha.

I am wondering if this is the first time in history that there were two hachnosas sefer torahs in one day to the same shul. Most shuls have a hachnosas sefer torah once in 30 years.
amd are you kidding? once every 30 years? in ny it’s quite common to have them once every couple of years.
