[VIDEO in EXTENDED ARTICLE] The eviction is ongoing, and Baruch Hashem there is no violence. Evictees will be taken to a school building and/or community center in neighboring Yishuv Ofra. It remains unclear where the families will be taken as a temporary home once taken from their homes.
A bulldozer is starting up to begin clearing the roadway to the yishuv atop of the hill to permit buses to access the area and then the work of carrying evictees to the buses and getting them on will get underway. As reported earlier, rocks, metallic objects and boulders were placed on the road and quantities of oil was poured on it too in the hope of making the eviction as difficult as possible. Metallic ninjas were also thrown in the hope of puncturing tires of security vehicles.
The residents are speaking with police, asking them “Why are you doing this” and “how are you going to live with yourself tomorrow”, but there is no response for the most part, but the body language and facial expressions speak volumes as clearly, many of the young troops involved in the eviction will require therapy after the traumas of removing the residents and their families from their homes.
MK Betzalel Smotrich and Minister Uri Ariel, both of the Bayit Yehudi party, are on the scene and they are met with jeers and calls for party leader Naftali Bennet to step down.
Police are maintaining aerial surveillance via an overhead balloon and Magen David Adom personnel are standing by in the event they are needed.
