Closure Clamped on Yehuda and Shomron

Police on Friday will be out in large numbers to prevent a second week of Islamic violence following Friday mosque prayers. Last week, Islamic hoodlums threw rocks and cinderblocks down at the Kosel.

Acting on intelligence information, Defense Minister Ehud Barak clamped a closure on PA residents throughout Yehuda and Shomron, barring them from crossing into Green Line Israel, explaining Islamic radicals planned riots on Har HaBayis, riots that authorities fear would spread to Yehuda and Shomron.

Police have set an age restriction for Islamic worshippers on Har HaBayis, banning all males under 50 and those without Israeli ID cards. There are no restrictions pertaining to female worshippers. Patrols will be increased in the Old City on erev shabbos as well as in the surrounding predominately Arab neighborhoods of the capital.
