Baruch Dayan HaEmmes: During the night of 5 Teves (Monday to Tuesday), in Laniado Hospital in Netanya, HaGaon Rav Naftoli Hertzka Frenkel of the Badatz Eida Chareidis was niftar at the age of 77. Rav Frenkel served as dayan on the badatz and was the mechaber of the Shu’t Imrei Bina.

Rav Frenkel was hospital during recent months after suffering a stroke. He was in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Yerushalayim and then moved to Laniado.

Rav Frenkel was born in Hungary and arrived in Eretz Yisrael at the age of seven. As a child he studied in Yeshivas Dushinsky in Yerushalayim headed by HaGaon Rav Yosef Dushinsky ZT”L. He married Moras Chaya Sarah, a daughter of Rosh Kollel Shomrei HaChomos and Rav of Chug Chassam Sofer in the city, HaGaon Rav Yissocher Dov Goldstein ZT”L.

He received semicha from HaGaon HaRav Yaakov Yitzchok Weiss, the Minchas Yitzchok ZT”L as well as from the Gavaad of the Eida. At the age of 36 he was already a dayan on the beis din of the badatz. יהי זכרו ברוך.
