High Court Rejects Petition to Halt Ashdod Rabbinical Election

Reports from the High Court of Justice indicate the court has rejected a petition seeking to stop Tuesday evening’s election for a chief rabbi of Ashdod.

As such, the election will get underway in Ashdod City Hall at 5:00pm, remaining open to the 48 eligible voters until 8:00pm, at which time the votes will be tabulated and the winner will announced.
