MK Yair Lapid, who heads the Yesh Atid opposition party, speaks out in Hebrew against the passing of UN Security Council Resolution 2334 and how the resolution is hypocritical and unacceptable to Israel. Following is a synopsis of Lapid’s words.
The resolution is dangerous, illogical and Israel will not accept it. It is hypocritical as the Security Council watches the slaughter of people in Syria, doing nothing, and it will not control Israel. It is clear who the council serves.
I will work with the government and the coalition at present, during this diplomatic process and I adamantly condemn how some of the Israeli left responded to this. There are times when we must stand united.
This all said, we cannot close our eyes as something did occur. For the past years PM Netanyahu has told us the Obama administration is hostile to Israel and her policies but with the passing of this vote we realize that theory has lost its validity for not a single country stood at Israel’s side. We mustn’t permit such a situation and we must evaluate what occurred. PM Netanyahu led us to believe Egypt and Russia are solid allies yet they led this move. We realize that something is wrong here and must be addressed.
We must return to a place of good standing in the international community and I know how to get us there. However, the world must realize 1,000 resolutions such as this will change nothing and today, the first day of Chanukah, we stand here and say that we and we alone will decide our fate, no one else.

Well, Israel cannot be a lawless country. Either the government believes that the ENTIRE LAND of Israel is a G-d given land TO THE JEWS and the LAWS OF TORAH ARE THE LAWS OF THE LAND or the UN has the right to land and the right to pass resolutions.
What a hypocrite you are, Lapid! On one hand fighting against the UN Resolution and on the other hand fighting the Jewish status of Israel and forcing Xmas trees in hotels instead of Menorahs. YOU HYPOCRITE!
Precisely BECAUSE Israel is doing everything possible not to show they’re Jewish and not to be Jewish that Hashem is sending the UN with this Resolution. When will you open your eyes?
