To the Editor (NYT):
Maureen Dowd’s reference to a morning prayer recited by some Orthodox Jewish men thanking God for not making them women (“Loosey Goosey Saudi ,” column, March 3) is the second time in two months that a New York Times columnist (after Nicholas D. Kristof, Jan. 10) has cited this practice as evidence of Judaism’s oppression of women.
Under Orthodox Jewish practice, women, in recognition of their childbearing and other familial responsibilities, are charged with fewer ritual commandments than men. The blessing in question, far from reflective of officially sanctioned subjugation of women, is simply a daily expression of thanks by men for being given the opportunity to express their belief in God by performing additional commandments.

Why does it matter what this Klipah says?
Being that she chooses to recognize anything but reality, will responding to her editorial landfill be of any value?
The NY Times
everything that they need to print fits their agenda
IMHO it would carry more weight aud possibly be a bigger kiddush Hashem if an Orthodox woman would write them and explain how the Torah enhances her worth.
The Orthodox world needs people who can intelligently and calmly refute the mistakes and, at times, the utter nonsense that the secular press writes about us. This, rather than hafganot, anger, or counter-insults, is our way of making a kiddush Hashem. Yasher Koach, Daniel Wolf! Thank you for taking the time to reply to the NY Times, and for a job well done.
I’m surprised that she neglected to mention that we say shelo asani goy with enthusiasm. If they had been at har sinai they would say it too. Instead they thank their god that they can eat cheeseburgers. Let them keep their traditions we’ll keep ours. We don’t need them to tell us how to equalize our women. Equal enought so that everyone knows that one quarter of the girls in the US are molested by their own father or relative. We would rather not have our women so equal. Maureen Idiot! Were you an assistant in creation? Are you going to tell our Sages what is right?
I guess Mr Wolff is one of the last 50 thousand people in NY to read that fishwrap.

Never get into a disputation with a whore for Satan like Dowd. She is not only an enemy of Jews, but she is a walking example of how the Dem party is trying to destroy Israel AND America.
