Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Shlita has turned to chareidi Members of Knesset asking their assistance in amending the induction law. Rav Yosef explains he is aware of ten avreichim who attend Sephardi kollels, most in smaller area in the periphery, and are now facing the military, which does not recognize their kollel.

It is explained the a kollel of less than ten avreichim of induction age is not recognized as a kollel, and therefore, the avreichim are not included draft deferments given to lomdei torah.
