YWN regrets to inform you of the sudden Petira of the Sanz-Zemigrad Rebbe of Bnei Brak, HaRav Chaim Naftoali Aharon Halberstam ZATZAL.
The Rebbe suffered a cardiac arrest and was Niftar in his home shortly after.
Magen David Adom Paramedics along with United Hatzalah volunteers were called to the Rebbes home on Recvhov Mintz at around midnight, Tuesday night / Wednesday morning. They found the Rebbe in cardiac arrest, and Paramedics immediately began advanced resuscitation efforts. As emergency personnel worked on the Rebbe, his family and close Chassidim recited Tehillim. Unfortunately, he was Niftar shortly after, as his family recited Viduy and Shema.
He was 64-years-old.
The Rebbe assumed the mantel of leadership in the Sanz-Zemigrad Chassidus after the passing of his father around 10 years ago.
His two brothers are the Sanz-Zemigrad Admorim in Boro Park and Antwerp.
It did not appear that the Rebbe suffered from any illness, and his Petira came as a shock to his Chassidim.
Just last week, the Rebbe participated in the Bar Mitzvah of a grandson.
The Levaya is schedule for Wednesday morning at his Bais Hamedrash in Bnei Brak.
