PA (Palestinian Authority) security forces preventing an IDF force from entering the autonomous area. the paratrooper force reportedly took a wrong turn and they arrived at a different entrance to Jenin that originally planned and the PA force prohibited them from entering, claiming prior coordination is required.
The incident occurred on Sunday, 11 Kislev, and B’chasdei Hashem ended without violence or injuries.
It appears the paratroopers were cleared to enter another road but they entered the wrong way and were on a main road which is very crowded with pedestrians, hence the decision to deny them entry.
PA authorities explain had they not stop the force from entering, confrontations with civilians would have resulted.
The IDF confirms that generally speaking, forces coordinate prior to entering PA autonomous areas to avoid ‘friction’.
