In a landmark deal between the Yeshiva and Reb Dovid Sebbag, the yeshiva will provide more parking in a newly constructed lot on Madison Avenue at Ninth Street.
After years of a parking crisis and the recent surge in ticketing around the yeshiva area, a solution has finally been worked out and from an unlikely source.
While many anticipated a new parking lot at the former site of the Lakewood Little League which now stands vacant, salvation has come from a private source and true friend of Bnei Torah.
Reb Dovid Sebbag, formerly of Lakewood, and his partner Reb Ari Kraus who originally donated the Irvington Hotel to Yeshiva and the Cheder, have now stepped up to help Yeshivaleit keep their cars parked while they learn.
The property which is currently owned by the pair is now being rented to Yeshiva for $1.00. The tractor on the site seems to indicate that work is about to be done on the site for the upcoming parking facility.
The deal was arranged by veteran member of Yeshiva, Rabbi Laizer Kuperman.
Look forward to a more comprehensive report on this matter as details become available.

yasher koach to reb aron kotler, reb laizer kuperman, reb dovid seebag, reb ari krauz and all the askonim that were involved in this deal and IYH by the little League lot its going to be a big loss for lakewood township all those tickets that lpd issues
that area can only hold about 20 cars
That Lot looks pretty small 2 me. how many parking spots are there supposed to be?
Beautiful thing…its a valuable piece of property..well,i’m jealous of his zechusim!
I think more shuttle service would be a better idea.
Don’t get so exited, the lot is very small. And it still won’t take care of the problem ,unless they make parking lifts like in manhatan
something is better than nothing!
people in lakewood should start driving mopeds like in Israel. That would take care of the parking problem,as well as save money on gas.
lets make mopeds a “yeshivashe” vehicle
it will not only help with parking, but also with the congested streets.
insurance is much chepaer on them too!
I heard from a member of the hanhala that the facility will be excpected to hold up to 100 parking spots. I drove past the land today and saw it and it makes alot of sense. so for those saying it will not hold alot of cars its not true. they cut down alot of trees and really expanded the lot…
why do people have to be so critical? why cant we recognize this as someone going and doing something for kovod hatorah? dumb suggestions, counting other peoples $$ are nothing to be proud of. 100 spots is 100 spots…….
mopeds is a great idea we can fit 100 cars and 500 mopeds i like that idea
if mopeds becomes the next form of transportation in the yeshivish world, since it was my idea, id like a to recieve a 10% comission for every moped sold!!!
Scooters is a great idea-i think i’ll starts selling them right away?any orders?10% discount for the first 1,000,000 customers.
For the spring and summer it would definitely be a good idea. You can get one for a few hundred bux.
You can’t do carpool with a moped.
i’ll sell the ones with the big buggies in the back-inflatable so you can pop it open like the pop up succah when the need arises!
As the adult population of Lakewood is aging, Little League field is a great spot for jogging, running and stretching. The 55+ society needs to be more health conscious, less car mobile and increase in walking mobility. Forget the parking lots–cars, mopeds etc—we need bike and walking trails.
Mopeds are illegal in NJ- 50 ccs- the bigger ones might be legal- have never gotten a clear answer from DMV-having said that, I am a wholesaler in mopeds etc- anyone interested?
Lakewood is “mamish” run on a train of chesed
