There was a security alert in Betar Illit on Friday night which led to activating forces and conducting a search in areas of the chareidi city. According to the report, at about 6:00PM, authorities were alerted to an infiltration between Hills A and B. the infiltrators were detected on surveillance security cameras, compelling the IDF response.

As is the practice, a command post was established and soldiers working with Shin Bet agents began the search during the alert, which continued into the morning hours of Shabbos when the exit location of the infiltrators was detected.

Authorities report they are not certain if the infiltration was a planned terror attack or to steal from the homes of residents.
