Iran Pushing 2 New Nuclear Enrichment Sites

When Israeli intelligence experts warned months ago that the window of opportunity to prevent a nuclear Iran from becoming a reality, it appears the international community simply was not listening. It took too long to win over the Americans and their erroneous intelligence data that said a nuclear capable Iran is years off, unfortunately reports that are now know to be mistaken.

Iranian Vice President Ali Akbar Salehi announced his country plans to launch construction of two new uranium enrichments sites, hoping to get the project underway in March. Salehi, who heads the nation’s nuclear program, explained the new sites have been approved in November, and they will house more advanced enrichment facilities.

Addressing a Jewish Agency event, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called for immediate sanctions, even prior to United Nations approval, stating crippling sanctions must be implemented to bring Iran to its knees. He warned that if this does not work, then “nothing else will but at least we know we will have tried”.

Realizing that Russia and China remain opposed, the prime minister emphasized the sanctions must be implemented even in the absence of Security Council approval.
