MK Glick To Petition The High Court Against PM Netanyahu And The Ban On Visiting Har Habayis

1One might view it as the rebellion from within as Likud MK Yehuda Glick is planning to file a petition with the High Court of Justice against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his decision banning MKs and cabinet ministers from visiting Har Habayis.

Glick is aware the ban was in place in the last Knesset, before he was brought in as a parliamentarian, citing police are now comfortable permitting elected officials back on the holy site yet the Prime Minister will not remove the ban. However Glick, a Har Habayis activist, has been visiting regularly until he took the oath of office as a Member of Knesset. Now he cannot visit due to the Prime Minister’s ban.

A number of months ago, Glick justified the Prime Minister’s decision based on the realities but explains now it is different, as Israel Police have changed its evaluation of the situation on Har Habayis.

One can safely assume if he makes good on the threat and files the petition, there will be sanctions placed on the young MK, possibly even a move to oust him from the party.

Gedolei Yisrael over the generations and the Chief Rabbinate of Israel prohibit visiting Har Habayis.

  1. This ego-driven political hack wants to put both himself and the security forces at risk by going up to har habayis which separately is assur and chayav kores according to most gadolim. He should not be allowed to put others at risk and should be locked in a jail cell if he persists in doing so.

  2. The temple mount site should legally be open to all who want to visit there. Not dealing with halacha at this point just with legal aspect.
