The Environmental Ministry on Wednesday 22 Cheshvan issued an air quality alert due to the high winds that are bringing a haze into Israel, which forecasters explain are coming from Sinai.
The alert reads “As a result of the large concentrations of respiratory particles in the air far above the alert level, the Ministry of Environmental Affairs urges the sensitive population to remain indoors if and when possible. There will be dust storms and difficult meteorological condition around the country.
As per the Clean Air Act, when values are higher than the accepted norm there is risk to public health.
In some area, those where large fires are raging out of control, the air quality is significantly worse for obvious reasons.
