Deputy Knesset Speaker MK Majid Whbee, a member of Israel’s Druse community, met on Wednesday with Maran Rishon L’Tzion Ovadia Yosef Shlita. Whbee asked for the meeting, which was arranged by Shas leader R’ Eli Yishai. The deputy speaker discussed a number of issues with the Gadol Hador and according to reports; he received a bracha before leaving.
The Rav showered him with words of praise regarding his activities in Knesset on behalf of Israel, adding he respects the Druse community which has decided to place its fate together with that of the Jewish People and the State of Israel.
Whbee told the Rav that he is well respected as well among the leaders of the Druse community.
