Embattled Governor David Paterson dropped a bit of a bombshell on Thursday.
Paterson revealed that his “advice man” is none other than former Governor Eliot Spitzer.
CBS 2 caught up with Spitzer as he was leaving his home on the Upper East Side.
In a radio interview Thursday morning, Paterson said he’s been getting advice from Spitzer since his resignation.
However, Spitzer told CBS 2’s Magee Hickey, he keeps his counseling cards close to the vest.
“Anybody who calls I’m happy to chat with and give advice to, but any conversations I have are purely private,” Spitzer said.
Paterson may need all the help he can get. He is expected to face a tough challenge in the fall’s Democratic primary from State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.
Paterson meanwhile is turning up the heat on the Legislature in Albany, saying lawmakers will be to blame if he delays some income tax refunds for three months.
