Speaking on Israel Radio’s Reshet Bet on Thursday morning, Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai confirmed that recent threats made by Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah are real.
Vilnai, a retired IDF major-general explained that Hizbullah today does indeed posses missiles capable of striking Ben-Gurion International Airport.
The minister was responding to statements released on Hizbullah-affiliated al-Manar Television by Nasrallah this week, stating if Israel attacks Rafiq Hariri Airport in Beirut, rockets will be launched into Ben-Gurion Airport.
Israeli intelligence community officials during recent months have stated the terrorist organization has an estimated arsenal of 40,000 rockets of different capacities.
