An earthquake was felt in areas of northern Israel during the predawn hours of Sunday, 19 Cheshvan. According to the Seismological Institute, an earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale was recorded in Lebanon and felt in areas of Israel.
The IDF Homefront Command on Sunday morning reminds Israelis how to respond in case of an earthquake chas v’sholom.
In case of an earthquake it is best to be in an open area.
If one can exit the building quickly, one should do so. If not one should:
· Enter the safe room and leave the door open
· If one does not have a safe room, enter the stairway of the building and if possible, head down the stairs and outside
· Only in case one cannot act in this fashion, seek cover under furniture such as a table or sit on the ground near an internal wall.
