Police Detain Former Members Of The National Security Council Suspected Of Bribery, Fraud And Breach Of Trust


1Member of the Israel Police National Investigations United have detained a former senior member of the National Security Council who is suspected of bribery, money laundering, fraud and breach of trust. A second suspect was detained on suspicion of involvement in the dealings of the first suspect.

According to police, the main suspect is alleged to have advanced the agenda of a prominent businessman from abroad in exchange for bribes including cash and favors without reporting the connection he maintained with the businessman.

An undercover investigation conducted in recent months led to police moving in and detaining the officials on Tuesday morning 14 Cheshvan. Searches were conducted in their offices and homes.

The Office of the State Prosecutor’s Economics Office has been accompanying investigators involved in the case.
