New York is getting ready for another winter storm. It will bring a mix of snow, slush and rain over night Monday into the Tuesday commute.
With the remnants of last week’s snowstorm still clogging up many of the side streets of Manhattan, people are not looking forward to the prospects of another 1-3 inches. The tough part is navigating sidewalks.
The New York City Department of Sanitation has 365 trucks ready to roll, loading up extra salt on the West Side since this expected to be more of a slushy mix in the city and south. More plowing will be expected in northern Queens and the Bronx. And multiple shifts of extra workers have been called in to keep the streets clean, but the sidewalks are still a tough task for many to face.
