Trump Pledges Restraint on Twitter as President

trpeDonald Trump is pledging restraint on Twitter as president.

But you can already tell he’ll be mightily tempted to let loose with those trademark tweets.

He tells “60 Minutes” he’s going to be “very restrained, if I use it at all.”

But he went on to call Twitter “tremendous” and said social media is “where it’s at.”

“I find it tremendous,” he said of the social media platform, which he credited for winning the White House race. “It’s a modern form of communication. There should be nothing we should be ashamed of.”

As he put it: “I have a method of fighting back.”

The president-elect says social media helped him win races in states where he was vastly outspent, and he thinks he’s proved that the medium can be more powerful than money.

Some of Trump’s most provocative comments in the primary and general election campaigns came from his tweets, often late at night.

The “60 Minutes” interview will be broadcast Sunday.

  1. How conventional!

That means we’ll get policy statements from a speech writer instead of streams of consciousness. Like dull.

  2. its not very presidential to be on twitter firing back at any and all attacks but i will say itll make the next 4 years a lot of fun if he does!

  3. Remember what they did with Obama”s blackberry,? This is the real Donald Trump signing off (Hope twitter is still around in 2020)
The problem with twitter and the president is – no one can speak in person to the president without an appointment, with Twitter anybody can. Surprised the Hillary people haven’t flooded his feed.
