Shas party leader Minister Aryeh Deri is among the chareidi elected officials smiling the day after the US presidential elections.

Speaking at a non-political event, Deri said the Jews of Israel should thank HKBH for Trump’s election, adding that it is still too early to understand the full ramifications of the vote. However, Deri is confident the election of Mr. Trump is a blow to the Reform Jews, who by-and-large are affiliated with the left-wing democrats.

In his comments regarding the Reform Movement, Mr. Deri blames the leaders of trying to destroy Yiddishkheit in Israel and he hopes this blow to the Reform “will permit us to continue in the path of the heritage and minhagim of Am Yisrael”.

He added many have commented that if Trump wins it signs Moshiach is on the way, adding “We are truly in the era of Moshiach” and daven that events will work for the good of Am Yisrael.
