PM’s Office Reacts To Clashes At The Kosel In Response To Provocation By Reform And Conservative Visitors

koselThe Women of the Wall (WoW) organization was at the Kosel on Wednesday morning, Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan, as they are every Rosh Chodesh. However, this month they were accompanied by leaders of the Reform and Conservative Movement in a clearly provocative act. The men and women were carrying Sifrei Torah when they arrived, declaring they are liberating the Kosel from chareidi control.

It did not take long for a confrontation to result between them and frum mispallalim, requiring police intervention.

The Prime Minister’s Office released the following statement in response to the morning events. “The unfortunate incident this morning at the Kosel does not help advance a solution for prayer arrangements there. The Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Knesset said yesterday to the leaders of the non-Orthodox movements that now is the time for dialogue and not for unnecessary friction. The unilateral violation of the status quo at the Kosel this morning undermines our ongoing efforts to reach a compromise”.

  1. Sorry Mr.Prime Minister…No dialogue here. Halacha and Torah Misinai reigns at the Kosel , and no compromises possible with those who choose to uproot Torah Misinai!!!!!!!!!!
