YWN regrtes to inform you of the Petira of Rabbi David Halpern, Rabbi Emeritus of Flatbush Park Jewish Center.

The Levaya will be held at Flatbush Park Jewish Center (6363 Avenue U in Brooklyn) at 11 AM tomorrow morning. The burial will take place at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, NY.

Rabbi Dr. David Halpern stepped down from the pulpit at Flatbush Park Jewish Center after 60 years in 2012 and continued as Rabbi Emeritus.

In 1952 Rabbi Halpern founded the modern Orthodox congregation. Rabbi Halpern graduated from Yeshiva College in 1949 and received his rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University in 1952.
