Protesters angry that hundreds of Superstorm Sandy victims have still not been able to return home four years later shouted down New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie as he visited a storm-damaged business in Seaside Heights.
Leaders of advocacy organizations for Sandy victims as well as several people whose homes remain damaged stood up and shouted Christie down at the event Friday.
They refused to let him speak for about five minutes.
While they were yelling, Christie and several aides huddled with others who had come to the event. They took the people’s contact information and promised to call Saturday to address their outstanding issues.
Christie was able to resume his speech afterward. He says he is also frustrated that not everyone is home yet four years after the storm.
