A strange incident occurred on Thursday, 25 Tishrei in the Ganei Esther Cemetery in Rishon L’Tzion. During a tahara on a niftar, a member of the chevra kadisha insisted he felt a pulse on the body, which he also declared felt unusually warm to the touch.
No time was wasted and Magen David Adom was summoned and the arriving EMTs and paramedics did not find a pulse.
It is uncertain exactly what the member of the chevra felt, possibly a regular occurrence resembling a pulse following death. Whatever the case the niftar was pronounced dead again as none of the EMS personnel detected any signs of life. The tahara was completed and the levaya took place as scheduled.

I read this story on another news site (Arutz 7, great site btw) and they reported that it was likely attributed to shifting fluids in the body which can resemble a pulse. While this is not a common occurrence, it does occasionally happen.
scarry
this is the scariest story ever reported on YWN
nothin scary about this. sorry
And the fish spoke, too!
Completely understandable. Niftarim continue to bleed and expel waste hours after death. If the meis was “fresh” i.e. the niftar had died less than a couple of hours before, the body is still warm, flexible, and some organs are still working (e.g. bowels.) I suppose it is a reflex.
