2:13PM IL: An IDF soldier was stabbed at Tapuach Junction in Shomron about 30 minutes ago. It appears the victim tried to flee the scene in a jeep, which subsequently overturned. At present, CPR is being performed on the scene on the soldier. It is unclear if his condition is the result of the stab wound or the accident or both.
The terrorist is in custody. Shots that were fired prompted earlier reports of a shooting attack as well, but it appears that gunfire was directed at the terrorist, who was wounded.
The situation is still unfolding and there is conflicting information. Additional reports to follow should the situation demand.
2:42PM IL: The soldier who was stabbed was the driver of a jeep was approached by the terrorist while delayed due to a traffic snarl MDA paramedic Neri Kitra reports. The paramedic reports that after “living saving measures” were implemented, the soldier was transported to Beilinson Hospital.
The rav Shatz (security officer) of Yishuv Tapuach drove his vehicle into the terrorist, neutralizing the incident. The terrorist sustained light injuries.
2:56PM IL: Baruch Dayan Emmes – the Israeli HY”D stabbed at Tapuach Junction has died of his massive injuries. It appears the knife struck his heart.
