In response to the UNESCO draft resolution denying any connection between the Jewish People, Har Habayis and the Kosel, Temple Mount Institute International Director Rabbi Chaim Richman believes the Jews are to blame.
Speaking from Jerusalem he Richman stated: “One million Jews on Har Habayis would solve the UNESCO problem. It’s not about others denying our ancestral rights it’s about Jews not claiming them.”
He continued: “For fifty years Har Habayis has been in our hands, but Jews have chosen its exterior wall instead of visiting and praying at the place G-d commanded. It’s time that the Israeli government and rabbinate take responsibility for this dire state of affairs. If as many Jews visited the Temple Mount as they do the Western Wall, we wouldn’t be having this discussion. Now is the time for every Jew to internalize this message and start visiting our Holiest site en masse”.
The draft vote was ratified by UNESCO on Tuesday, the first day Chol Hamoed Sukkos in Eretz Yisrael as reported by YWN-ISRAEL.
Gedolei Yisrael over the generations and the Chief Rabbinate of Israel prohibit visiting Har Habayis

One must wonder why a generally reliable site like YWN would choose to write intentionally misleading headlines. Nobody is asking anyone to be oiver an issur kares c”v. The area where the religious Jews go on Har Habayis is Herod’s extension of the H”H. There is no rabbi that would tell you that the Herod extension is subject to kares. While it’s true that most rabbi’s prohibit going to that part as well, that is because of a lo plug being that some people may not know where they can and cannot go. Please continue to be a reliable news site and stop misleading your readers. May we all be zocheh to go up to the Har Habayis together bimheira b’yameinu and celebrate the chag b’makom asher yivchar Hashem.
There is no issur in ascending the Har HaBayis in if one goes to Mikvah and does not wear leather, provided they don’t go into machaneh shekhina area (which is less than half of the mount. in fact, there is a mitzvah to ascend the mount and pray there, as did The Rambam. If there is any issur, it is for goyim to be defiling our sanctuary by their presence. They must be banned immediately from the site and the Machane Shekhina area should be fenced off until the Temple is rebuilt.
It wouldn’t solve it, it would EXACERBATE it!!!
TIPSHIM!
Not all poskim agree on Har HaBayit.
Some say parts are forbidden and part are permitted. Some say more is forbidden and other less.
Other rabbonim assur going to Har Habayit so we should not anger the goyim.
Other rabbonim say it is a mitzvah to go up to Har HaBayit, needless to say, their opinion is rejected by the charadi press who decides who is a ‘gadol’ and who isn’t.
It’s terrifying how a news site that is read as the exclusive news source for many people has no shame in writing blatant lies.
No one is telling anyone to be over on an issur kares. The RAMBAM himself went onto Har Habayit.
It’s true, just like Nidda and Chametz, there is an Issur Kares involved and therefore many Rabbanim have chosen to avoid the issue. From a Halachic standpoint however we know with certainly certain areas that are permissible to enter.
Stop lying. It’s immature.
Agreed with “your average Joe”. This article is totally despicable YWN please learn the halachos before being motzei Shem rah!!!
Ummm….. No issur kareis whatsoever. (unless you go near dome of the rock, but in that case you’ll receive the kareis quite quickly indeed via our “friendly cousins”)
Typical yeshivish amaratzus.
Wow! Issur Kares!
You just spoke RECHILUS on everyone who has ever walked , or will walk on the permitted areas of Har Habayis – well away from any questionable areas.
What is the punishment for Rechilus? .
Not sure why everyone is so surprised at this article and it’s headline- it’s doing exactly what YWN wants: it gets you to click on it; they get ad money; and they couldn’t care less whether the content is true, false or simply garbage. The real question is why we all keep coming back for more: none of us seems able to stay off of YWN even if we disagree with their opinion.
A reply to #5:
Plese prove to me the The RAMBAM really went on Har HaBayis because maybe he only ever reached Har HaTzofim as he writes in the Yad that today the Mitzva of Aliya Laregel is to see Har Bayis from Har Hatzofim.?
Pleae don’t bring me any proofs from the Temple Mount Institute which has a teshuva from Reb. Moshe Finestein which CLEARLY state not go there because we don’t know where to walk
The gedolei Torah forbid ascending the Har Habayis. There is a psak from Rav Avraham Yitzchak Kook zt”l that also forbids it. Without claiming there is an issur kares, if most of the gedolei harabbonim forbid something, why do puny, impudent potato-heads think that they are in a position to argue with them? What is all this second guessing about what the rabbonim *really* said, and what they *really* meant? Assur is assur. Period. When we’ll reach the level of the gedolei harabbonim’s toenails, maybe we’d be in a position to dispute their psak.
