At 7:25PM IL, Rav Shmuel Eliyahu Shlita, the chief rabbi of Tzfas and a son of Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Mordechai [Tzemach ben Mazel] Eliyahu stated his father is truly in need of a refuah, calling for continued tefillos from Am Yisrael.
 
Rav Shmuel Eliyahu stated we “do not rely on miracles” and the entire family have met with Gedolim, and tefillos are being recited at kivrei tzaddikim and in yeshivos around the country. Rabbi Shmuel is in constant touch with his father’s physicians.
 
The rav stated over the weekend he was in the United States and the Sephardic community hosting him continues to daven on his father’s behalf.
 
On Tuesday morning, at 11:30am Israel time, tefillos will be recited by children around Israel, calling on anyone anywhere in the world to take part if possible.
 
The Rav stated during his visit to the United States, he had hoped to meet with Jonathan Pollard but his father’s condition compelled him to return home. Rav Mordechai Eliyahu Shlita is extremely close to Pollard and has been a beacon of light for him during his incarceration.
