District Court Justice’s Vehicle Torched

As the Judicial Authority busies itself addressing the recent shoe attack against Justice Dorit Beinish, the president of the High Court of Justice, the vehicle of Haifa District Court Justice Moshe Gilad was targeted by arsonists near his Akko home.

According to reports, the judge’s vehicle was set ablaze during the predawn hours on Monday, near his home, which is some 200 meters (yards) from the city’s police station.

A passerby noticed the vehicle in flames and he notified police. Police believe the attack was not random and the attacker knew the vehicle belongs to Judge Gilad.

Following the recent shoe attack during a court session, agencies responsible for protecting the nation’s justices have been weighing tightening security and implementing measures that will provide enhanced security for them.

After this latest attack was assessed, authorities regard the incident as most serious and have decided to increase security for justice Gilad.
