Speaking with reporters on Sunday, Minister of Science (Bayit HaYehudi) Rabbi Prof. Daniel Hershkowitz stated he uses the road daily in his travels from Haifa to Jerusalem, and he feels the bill is significant since permitting PA motorists on the highway will result in an untenable situation. Hershkowitz added that there are situations in which “human life must take priority over human rights”.

Minister of National Infrastructure (Yisrael Beitenu) Dr. Uzi Landau called the court ruling erroneous, stating there are security dangers and as long as dangers exist, and Israelis are in under threat, the road must remain off limits to those who pose the threat.
