The United States Department of State over the weekend announced a $40 million allocation for UNRWA (The United Nations Relief & Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees). $10 million will be given to the agency operating in Hamas-controlled Gaza and the remainder towards UNRWA operations in Yehuda, Shomron, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan. Officials report the funds will be used for humanitarian purposes, including healthcare, education, water, food and medical supplies.
