Over one thousand mispallalim were on hand Sunday night the eve of 8 Tishrei, taking part in pre-Yom Kippur tefilos at Kever Yosef in PA (Palestinian Authority) occupied Shechem.
Leading the group was Minister of Religious Services (Shas) David Azoulai, along with Shomron Regional Council head Yossi Dagan, his deputy, Shomron Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Elyakim Levanon Shlita, the Laluv Rebbe Shlita, and a number of senior military officers. Sadly, the event marked 16 years since Israel abandoned the tziyun under fire.
Border police Corporal Yousef Madhat, 19, from Bet Jon, bled to death as Ehud Barak feared sending in troops in a timely fashion, which could have saved him. Instead, Barak engaged in negotiations with terrorists during a prolonged standoff with the PA during which the Bedouin soldier died of his injuries. Desperate calls from border police to extricate Madhat while he fought to remain alive fell on deaf ears.
