Syria is apparently not ruling out a military conflict with Israel in the future, warning such an event would be comprehensive and include all cities in Israel.
“Israel is sowing the seeds of war. I recommend Israel stops the role of regional bully in the Middle East”, stated Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem on Wednesday.
Speaking from Damascus, the senior Syrian official added “One day you are threatening Gaza and the next day, Lebanon, after that Iran and now, Syria”. He made his alarming comments during a press conference with Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Moratinos.
Moallem’s remarks were an apparent response to comments made before senior IDF officers on Tuesday, stating the current situation in the region may escalate to a major military conflict. Barak stated that after the war with Syria, both sides will sit around the negotiating table and discuss the issues that have been pending for 15 years, as YWN-Israel reported.
Moallem warned Israel “not to test Syria’s determination” since a regional war would “hit all Israeli cities”. He added that Syria knows the war will occur, either with S. Lebanon or with Syria.
Seeking to calm the situation, Moratinos stated he does not hear the “drums of war”; promising Spain would do whatever possible to advance Mideast peace efforts.

Excuse me??? “regional bully”? Huh?
Too bad Syria has nothing to lose.
So Syria is threatening all Israeli civilians (as well as their fellow Arabs in and around Israel) while calling Israel the “bully”.
How come they don’t say that to Iran?
Because Iran is not “the Jewish state”, and only Jews get blamed for the problems or publically called “bully” even though secretly the Syrians are afraid of Iran.
hereorthere, Iran basically exerts de facto control over Syria or why would the Syrians have built a nuclear reactor? I doubt so that they would be able to barbecue their Halal meat better.
Mr. Levin, G-d has promised the Jewish people that they will survive their enemies but their enemies will be wiped off the face of the earth.
I would like to give you a suggestion. You may accept it or dump it in your personal trash compactor. I have noticed that some of your posts indicate a desire on your part to learn more about Judaism. I know two gentlemen who I think are on par for your level of thinking. One is Nat Lewin, Esq. He lives in Washington, D.C. He is famous for working on an appeal on behalf of Richard Nixon.
Another person would be Professor Aaron Twerski, Esq. He is a law professor in Hofstra University. He is descended from a long line of highly esteemed rabbis from Chernobyl, Ukraine. Both of these individuals are men of letters who are extremely familiar with the law especially constitutional law. I believe you will enjoy their company and many long hours of intellectually stimulating discussions.
I pray that you take my suggestion as such and not as an insult. It is always wonderful to see your comments.
