Sen. Tim Kaine and Gov. Mike Pence clashed last night in a showdown that was full of disruptions.

An ABC News analysis of last night’s vice presidential debate found that both candidates topped Donald Trump’s number of interruptions from last week’s presidential face-off.

Kaine, Hillary Clinton’s running mate, interrupted Pence a whopping 70 times last night, including 27 times in just the first 30 minutes. Pence interrupted Kaine a total of 40 times.

In comparison, Trump interrupted Clinton 39 times during their debate last week, versus only nine times for Clinton.

Pence spoke roughly two-and-a-half minutes longer than Kaine — similar to the three-minute difference between Trump and Clinton in the first presidential debate.

  1. Another consistency in both debates is that each candidate wore the opposing party’s color. Trump wore a blue suit and Clinton a red dress. Pence wore a blue tie while Kaine wore a red one.
