The Egged bus driver who verbally assaulted and insulted a chareidi soldier on a number 75 bus two weeks ago has been fired.

The driver called the soldier “Smelly dos” (smelly chareidi) among other insults. In a statement released by Egged, after speaking with the driver and reviewing his file, the decision was made to dismiss him from the company.

Egged stresses once again the actions of this driver in no way reflects the position or policies of the bus company.

While the soldier was not in uniform, after asked to identify himself he showed the driver his valid IDF identity card that permits him to travel free of charge even when not in uniform. The driver was uninterested in hearing it, continuing his verbal assault against the soldier and chareidim in general.
