There was a security incident in the Shomron chareidi community of Tel Tzion on Monday night 23 Elul. The community’s emergency siren was sounded to warn residents to get indoors. Security forces including the first-response team were activated immediately as they feared an infiltration.
At some point, an ‘all clear’ was given then there were additional sirens and the alert continued. The IDF area brigade commander had troops going from house to house, instructing residents to say “all is ok” when soldiers knock.
There were reports at some point a person carrying something was detected climbing over the fence carrying something as he fled the community. This set off the siren again.
Ultimately residents were told that the ‘all clear’ had been given and life is to resume as well as school opening and transportation services on Tuesday morning.
