Channel 1 correspondent Amir Bar-Shalom met with Jonathan Pollard in New York and spoke with him. Pollard was released from a US Federal Prison ten months ago and is still compelled to wear an electronic bracelet and reports to officials to check in twice daily. In fact, he did not arrange to meet with the media but he was spotted by Bar-Shalom walking on a street with his wife.
Bar-Shalom asked him a number of questions, but Pollard’s response remained “no comment” as he is forbidden to speak with the media. “I honestly cannot comment on everything” he explained.
Channel 1:
Why, it will jeopardize your parole?
Pollard:
I cannot even comment on that.
He then does speak a bit.
One sees the troubled look on Mrs. Pollard’s face, adding in Hebrew “This is very dangerous for him, each word that he says”, however, Pollard does speak a bit as seen in the video.

Very inappropriae of the reporter to jeopardize Pollard that way.
So sad to still be under arrest after serving 30 yrs in prison. May hashem bring him & his dedicated wife home to Israel ASAP!
He would be better off just staying out of sight and not jeopardizing the terms of his release or he will end up again in jail. He is still considered a traitor by most Americans and they would use any small technical violation of his parole to make sure he spent the rest of his life in confinement.
#1 – Absolutely. Extremely selfish behavior. He goaded Jonathan on making it harder and harder for him to restrain himself and keep his original distance.
Perhaps we can at least get something positive out of this by noting how similar this is to the tactics of the yetzer hara – he doesn’t give up and keeps on trying to tempt us to sin no matter how resolutely we refuse his advances at the outset, such as getting sucked into lashon hara, for example. We must stick with ‘no comment’ despite all the flattery attempts.
I would be concerned that posting this video on USA website would be harmful to him. Even if it is slight possibilty, it is not kdai. I suggest removing it. To paraphrase Ysam, Very inappropriae of this website reporter to jeopardize Pollard this way”
Everyone daven hard that no harm come to him from this.
shocking that YWN would upload this video that was shown on israeli TV on Shabbos. as can be heard at the beginning of the video when the in-studio reporter says “Shabbat Shalom”.
a shocking and upsetting breach of Yiddishkeit. i suppose this comment will not be allowed onto the site because it is going against YWN.
