As was the case in the past, when Israel’s foes pointed an accusing finger at Jerusalem, there has not been any official statements released by government officials following the news that the body of master Hamas terrorist Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was found in a Dubai hotel room last week. No official office or agency has commented, including Minister of National Infrastructure Dr. Uzi Landau, who stands accused of smuggling in the assassins under the cover of his ministerial delegation, last week attending a Dubai energy conference. The minister’s spokesman released a statement “There is no response”, as is the case with all government spokesmen asked to comment on the Hamas accusations that the Mossad eliminated the master terrorist.

Dubai officials first barred Dr. Landau from attending, but after organizers threatened if that is the case they will cancel the event, the government backed down and permitted the Israeli delegation to take part in the event, Renewable Energy Conference, Dubai 08.

Other assassinations credited to the Mossad would include the elimination of Imad Mughniyeh in February 2008; the attempted assassination of Khaled Meshal in Jordan in 1997 [which compelled then PM Netanyahu to send an antidote and release Hamas founder/leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin]; the 1995 assassination of arch Islamic Jihad terrorist Dr. Fatchi Shkaki in Malta; and the 1979 assassination of Ali Hassan Salama, one of the heads of the Black September, who was responsible for the murders of the Israeli athletes in the Munch Olympics. He was taken out in a car bomb attack near Beirut.
