Once again the matter of salmonella alert is in the news in Israel. This time, the Tzabar Salad Company, which was quick to announce it took corrective action even before the presence of salmonella was confirmed.
Osem, which owns Tzabar, detected the possible presence of salmonella following last month in which numerous products were targeted in a salmonella recall.
In a statement to the press on Wednesday evening 18 Elul, Osem explains the matter was addressed aggressively, prior to any of the suspicious product being shipped to anyone. Therefore, the entire matter was contained and corrected.
The infected products included humus, tehina, and tehina with eggplant with the Tzabar label. Tzabar assures shoppers all of its products on store shelves are safe for consumption.
